I want to upgrade my vista to the ultimate one but it says there you are recommended to backup your hard drive but i don’t have any free external hard drive now…. so whats the costs if i don’t backup?

The Answer by Azrael :

Theoretically none, but it’s easy to copy all your files and program installers and settings to dvd+r .

I purchased an upgrade pack which is supposed to upgrade to Vista Home Premium from XP.
So i’ve done the upgrade and there seems to be a lot of buggy stuff going on. I want to do a ‘clean’ install of it. Can i do this with my version of Vista? Help please

The Answer by YahooAnswers :

Technically, it doesn’t work - that’s why the CD is label as ‘upgrade’.

However, I do find some article claims these can be done.

For instance:

I have an intelMac (Quad) with xp installed on the Windows partion which I installed using bootcamp. If choose to upgrade to Vista, can I do it like a normal windows upgrade or will I need to backup-format and reinstall using bootcamp again?

The Answer by zombie.society :

Of course you can. You could do it either way you wanted.
