hey i got my win xp upgraded to win vista ultimate and it seems pretty cool until i found out about this dreamscene in win extras, then i recenlty found out that in order for me to use it i needed to have aero scheme on, i went on the personalize>win schemes> and then the aero wasnt there, i later changed my theme to windows vista from the default one and it still wasnt avaible, i tried the registry tweak and that still didnt work, so if u ever had this problem and knows what to do can you please help me?
thanks in advance.
P.S if u dont know please dont leave me some stupid, nonsense, comment ok?!
to have aero enabled you must have a compatible graphics card in your machine, if you don't you cannot enable aero - the registry tweaks were for pre-release versions of vista available to testers *before* the official vista launch.
the ability to 'force' aero to work on some graphics cards was removed in the retail version, here are the requirements:

I have looked around the internet for directions, however most directions I have found are for using a partition on one single drive. How could I set it up a Linux drive completely separate of my Vista drive and boot up to either drive I decide? Thanks for the help.
its pretty easy …. i use vista with linux (ubuntu) and they work fine …
i assume that u know basic about installation and some basic about ur OS … :p
just like u said .. u want them in DIFFERENT partition… first of all , u need to make some space for it . for that u go to computer manager and in it find device manager , now with its help .., re-size ur HDD and make some free space UNFORMATTED/UNPARTITIONED .. ya not FAT not NTFS nothing …. that will be drive size for ur linux … now boot with ur linux livecd (example UBUNTU) , and just follow the instructions they r very simple …. just remember that u need to say YES to install grub (boot loader ) at time of installation to choose which OS u want to boot ….

The computer I bought was a display one which had already installed vista home premium on it. It now says that the version I have is not genuine.
No you don't have to. Keep it as long as you wish untill it crash and you need to reinstall it again.
