i am using Vista home basic.though i have downloaded theme files for vista(*.msstyle files to be exact),i don't know how to apply these themes…Could you please give me a step-by-step instruction for it?

i also googled it,but couldn't find much about it…it told we hav to apply some kind of patch…but i am afraid it might corrupt system files… Plz help!

You require a patched uxtheme.dll file, to be exact.

Simply download one from http://www.google.com/search?q=uxtheme+vista&sourceid=ie7&rls=com.microsoft:en-US&ie=utf8&oe=utf8

After doing whatever you need to do with the patch, and rebooting your computer, do this:

Place your theme files into the windows default themes folder
(commonly C:\windows\resources\themes )
Double click the .msstyle files.
Display Properties dialog box will open.
Press Apply to apply the theme now.

I want to get it, but I need to know how much it is first…or do I have to buy a new computer all together??

my neighbor has windows vista on his laptop
everytime he turns it on it say update windows vista
I told him he needs an upgrade
he is really upset about not being able to go on line

Before doing anything else check the ramm . With Vista you need a minimum of 1gb , more is better.
