I find a lot of Leopard features are practically copies of other systems. The only good feature worth upgrading was Time Machine, but that in itself is not a good reason to update from Tiger.

Examples of copying:

3D Dock - Sun's Looking Glass project, been here for a long time : http://www.sun.com/software/looking_glass/
(it doesn't even work like a 3D object!)

Transparent-like menu bar - just like Vista's translucent taskbar/windows except implemented in an awful way, compared to Vista's more elegant style.

Spaces - Linux has had virtual desktops for a long time. Nothing new at all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spaces_%28software%29#Comparison

Parental Controls - Vista's had this for a long time too. And yes, they do work. They're done quite nicely.

That's just some of the things I notice.

As a Tiger user, Leopard is merely a laugh. You have to be dumb to upgrade to a new OS because of one major feature.

So what's your opinion on Leopard's copying?

The Answer by gangsterkhurrum :

Hi, yeah u r right, now that I think about it almost all of Leopard's features have been around for a long time. I kind of prefer Linux to all other operating systems anyway, but Vista isn't bad either. Its on my parents desktop and it seems really stable.
Take care!
