i believe the disk management utility also deleted the portion where your vista is stored…. try putting the harddrive on other computer…. and transfer the files if any… if it doesnt… well you have to reformat and reinstall…

The Linux grub loader must be cleared from the Master Boot Record (MBR).
I think Vista works the same as XP. So, insert the Vista disk and boot your PC. When Vista sees that it's already installed, it should go into Recovery mode. Then, at the command line, run FixMBR.
Reboot your PC and it should boot normally.

I put Fedora on my pc, it has XP Media center and deleted the partition, which screwed me over because of grub. The only thing you can do is format, or look up a code that you will have to put in every time you start up your computer. I still don't get why Linux doesn't delete grub when you delete the Linux partition itself

Elfageek has it right. Reset the mbr and all will be happy in windoze land. No reformatting, no reinstalling, simply follow the instructions on writing over the mbr.
