I believe you need at least 7 GB hard drive space and 512 MB RAM to install Vista. But what if you had less than 7 GB hard drive space and less than 512 MB and you tried to run a vista boot disk? Then what would happen? Would your hard drive just crash, or would virtual memory be automatically substituted to fill the void? Also, what if you had more than the maximum RAM storage capacity for a DOS system and you tried to install a system with more than that on it, i.e. the maximum attainable RAM for the last DOS system was 128, so what if you tried to install Windows XP, which already comes with at least 240?

See, XP and Vista don't use DOS. Therefore you have to install first XP or Vista and then create directory for DOS. Vista comes on market in three versions (like the XP) and i think that for home edition you got enough memory. Hard drive can not be crashed because if installer find not enough space or memory space installation will be canceled. Best Regards and veradisca! Neven

  • Never install windows vista?

this is an opinion not a question. I've been checking websites complaining about windows vista, they say vista can't install the programs you want and is not because the program is not compatible, it's because vista only accepts some programs to install, the rest of the programs can't be install.
installing is a big problem so far, not including how slow they run, it doesnt matter how fast your computer is.
another thing is the pc games, MOST of the games have problems playing it, they found rare errors, and it lags.
vista can have better security so what, so does xp, after i read all these rumors i decided not to install vista, its just a waste of time. i was about to buy a laptop, but i'll make sure it contains windows xp, for me windows xp still better then vista
    what do u think?

Totally agree! A friend of mine bought a powerful performance desktop with Vista installed. Almost none of his expensive sortware would run properly. Neither did the peripherals like his flight control system, 3D-helmet and calligraphy pad. He returned the system two days later.
Personally, I'll just wait for the next Microsoft OS scheduled to come in two years.
If it's not a good one, I might even switch to Apple. I hear the upcoming Leopard OS is pretty neat :)

  • Windows VISTA themes for VISTA?

I been searching for 2 hours and failed miserably.
Its really odd, because I cannot find any VISTA themes for VISTA. All vista themes are for XP.
I have VISTA HOME preimium, and it doesn't come with many themes and i would like to download a few.

    Thanks

Go to this site.. I am also a member there who frequents this site very often. I have pasted a link to a theme that was posted on the site. It's a nice theme once you figure out how to install it.. but there are guides aswell on the site to help you aswell as in the .rar file. There are also a few other things to customize like the entire icon set. Hope this helps.
