I am currently using, the completely bottom of the line ATi Radeon 9550. The sad bare minimum of minimums in graphic processing standards. Its about 4 years old now, doesn't even have a GPU lol
Anyway, I'm looking at the ATi Radeon 512MB X1900XT because I want the best graphics card (though the XTX is a tweak better, value for money is with XT) and I think I deserve it having have collected the money and living with this 9550 junk for an eternity by computing standards. =)
However, my burning question is, is now a good time? ATi Radeon is currently developing their new R600 line of cards scheduled for a Q4, Q1 or Q2 release. Though it is still DirectX 9, these cards are as revolutionary in design and capacity as the Core 2 Duo is compared to Pentium chips.
Ofcourse, there is the future DirectX 10 cards which I have yet to see/hear even rumours of development…then again, not sure if I would even want to use Windows Vista or not =( Help people…? lol
If you don't know f*** shit about computing, I suggest you bugger off cause obviously, it wouldn't take a genius to know that you'd have to actually have KNOWLEDGE in this topic before shooting off your mouth like the malau bodoh chibai tiu nya ߨ®ΜĄĦ.
However, I will rephrase my question: I've got an ATi Radeon 9550. I'm going to chuck it out and upgrade to an ATi Radeon X1900XT. Is now a good time though?
I'm building a new computer from scratch. My sister's getting this junk I have now =) 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo, 2GB PC-6400 XMS RAM, a good Gigabyte motherboard, 320GB HDD, etc. etc. Graphics card is all I've got to decide on. Hope that helps
Well since you are getting a new system completely, then I would suggest you get a top of the line card to go with it. I do wanna correct one thing you said, the R600 will be a DirectX 10 card, in fact it was built from the ground up to be DirectX 10, so you might wanna wait a few months for that, supposed to be here in January. Also the new nVidias are coming out in Nov/Dec, also DirectX 10 cards.

I want to install windows vista but i am worried that i might mess my computer up. I am also worried that if i want to change back to windows xp after installing vista will erase all of my programs. I also have a brother printer420cn and am not sure that it will support vista. If u have any suggestions can u please explain it well? And if i can install both, how do i do it?
which program can i use to burn the iso file that comes with it because i tried using about 3 that burn iso but wont with this one
You can also use vmware (a trial version is available)
This prog. allow you you install any windows version within a virtual machine. When you get bored with it or it doesn't work simply remove the virtual machine.

Do you lose all your programs and files when you install Windows Vista beta?
That would depend.
It would tell you while its doing it. For instance are you "upgrading" or re-installing, in that case, NO.
If your installing NEW, then it will ask if you want to install on a "newly formatted disc" say NO or it will wipe your hard drive. Otherwise, tell it to simply delete windows and "leave the SYSTEM INTACT." If you do this, your programs can be re-added to windows by the new Vista when it "locates programs."
Good luck!
